Introduction: The long acting GLP-1 analogue, Semaglutide (S), is indicated for the treatment of adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Since November 2021, S has also been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) at a dose of 2.4 mg for the treatment of obesity.
